  • Stress Screen
A sand dune in the desert with a blue sky in the background.

A Stress Screening identifies what types of stressful or potentially traumatic events a child might have experienced and possible effects on the child. Often children do not talk about these events or effects unless asked. Screening for traumatic events and potential stress related problems can help parent and their healthcare providers start to address the effects.

    • The results of the screen will be shared at the time of the visit.
    • We have Behavioral Health Coordinators (BHCs) on site to go over screening results and to provide training for brief coping strategies to practice at home.
    • The healthcare provider or the BHC may also recommend referral to trauma focused services in the community for families who are ready to pursue treatment.
